Through this new education policy, many improvements have been made in the education system in the country. Many important changes have been made from school level to graduation. Understand some important changes going on in the education system of the country…

What changed at school level
Existing 10 + 2 + 3 systems have been replaced. This has been changed to 5 + 3 + 3 + 4. 5 years of foundation education, 3 years of preparatory, 3 years of middle and 4 years of secondary schooling.

Children will start their first grade from the age of 6. Classes 1 to 10 will be taught at the age of 6 to 16 years. Education will be done from 11th to 12th at the age of 16 to 18 years.

Students will be given two levels of options in all subjects. For example, this time CBSE had given the option of two levels in Maths - Basic and Standard. Now starting from Maths, this kind of option will be available in all subjects. Students will be able to study it by choosing one option as per their choice.

Instructions should be given to children in schools in their home language, mother tongue and regional language till at least 5th grade. However it can also be adopted for classes 8th and beyond.

Board exams will be simplified a bit. The examination will be such that the core competency can be tested. These exams on objective and subjective patterns will be offered twice a year. Students will be able to choose one of these.

The Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) will be established, which will serve as the standard setting body for board exams.

For school students, 10 days a year will be bagless days. That is, in these 10 days they do not need to go to school with the burden of books in their bags. During this time they will be given informal internships.

What changed at the college level
Entrance tests will be taken for admission in colleges like SAT. These exams will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). A common college entrance exam will be taken twice a year by the NTA for admission to various colleges in the country.

The Bachelor degree will be of four years. However, there will be an option for 3 years. Students who leave the course in between will also get a credit transfer and a chance to complete their degree after a break.
